Project Comunică
Logo Design • Branding • Research Recruitment
Project Comunică is a research study out of Romania that provides help and support for mental health and HIV risk reduction among Romanian gay and bisexual men. The study is designed to be accessible to participants via their mobile devices (phones, tablets, or laptops). I was tasked with developing a logo that represents the study and would connect with potential study participants.
Logo Design Concept
The name of the study, Comunică, means "Communicate" in Romanian, and it reflects the study's goal of facilitating communication and support for the participants. The tagline, Despre Mine. Despre Noi (DMDN), translates to "About Me. About Us." and it emphasizes the study's focus on both individual and community-based approaches to mental health and HIV risk reduction.
Visual Elements of the Logo Design
In designing the logo, I wanted to create a visual representation that captured the spirit of the study and its goals. I chose a clean, modern design that features a rainbow “c” which symbolizes the importance of communication. The vibrant colors and bold font convey a sense of energy and positivity, and the inclusion of the study's name and tagline make the logo easily recognizable and memorable.
Brand Style Guide
The style guide that accompanied the Comunică logo design was designed to ensure that the visual elements of the logo were consistent across all applications, including print, web, and social media. The style guide included guidelines for the use of color, typography, and spacing, as well as examples of how the logo should be applied in different contexts.
I am proud to have been a part of this project, and I believe that the logo design will help to promote the study's important work and attract participants to this critical research.
